iHome announces compatibility of SmartPlug products with Amazon Alexa devices
In order to further the relevance of its iHome Control product line, iHome has announced the compatibility of its SmartPlug products with Amazon Alexa devices, including Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap, Echo Dot and Amazon Fire TV.
iHome WiFi SmartPlug is capable of converting any connected device into a smart device. The addition of an Amazon Alexa device to their iHome SmartPlug network allows customers to use their voice to control their smart home.
Gary Schultz, director of business and product development at iHome, said: “By adding support for Amazon Alexa to iHome's SmartPlug platform, we deliver an incredible experience to our customer. Voice control is no longer limited to playing music or checking the weather - now, people can control lights, room ACs, heaters, fans, humidifiers and more by just speaking to their Alexa-enabled devices.”
iHome's Alexa enabled iHome Control Products include ISP5 SmartPlug, ISP6 SmartPlug and ISP8 SmartPlug. ISP5 SmartPlug can control switching on and off lights, fans, room ACs and appliances. The ISP6 SmartPlug adds remote-capability to the list of control capabilities while ISP8 SmartPlug boasts the addition of remote-capability and the monitoring of energy usage. The ISP6 SmartPlug and the ISP8 SmartPlug will be available in August.
iHome's SmartPlug products are compatible with several leading IoT platforms including Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Nest, Samsung SmartThings and Wink.
