Luxembourg rolls out SIGFOX nationwide IoT network

Global connectivity provider SIGFOX, in conjunction with partners POST Luxembourg and RMS.lu, has announced Luxembourg is the eighth country to deploy its nationwide Internet of Things (IoT) network.

The Benelux nation, with a population of just over 500,000, follows Portugal, Belgium and Denmark, where plans were announced earlier this year. The network already operates in France, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.

AT&T forms Smart Cities Organisation for citywide IoT

Telecom giant AT&T is expanding its focus on IoT for cities with its new dedicated Smart Cities Organisation.

The new initiative is similar to the firm's connected car organisation, but focused on creating innovative and disruptive IoT-based solutions for cities instead of cars. AT&T is already engaged in delivering IoT to solve community challenges like street lights, water systems and utility meters.
