New research explores endpoint confusion when securing the IIoT

To make sure the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is as secure as it can be, it needs to be secured at the endpoint level. There’s just one problem though: what is an endpoint, anyway?

A survey of more than 200 industrial executives from the SANS Institute concludes that while security of endpoints is the primary concern for IIoT, having a relatively small number of connected devices does not mean you have a manageable amount of endpoints to consider.

40% of respondents said they had fewer than 100...

Close to the edge: How to realise the benefits of edge computing for IIoT

You may well have heard of the ‘intelligent edge’, as Microsoft puts it – the future of computing, on multiple devices, the blurring of the physical and virtual worlds, driven by huge amounts of data, as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning. But how can organisations make the most of this opportunity?

A new whitepaper from the Industrial Internet Consortium aims to shed some light on this process and how to architect an edge computing implementation.

It is important to note...
